What You Will Do

The Azure Cloud Architect will play a critical role in leading the design and implementation of Trimble Transportation’s cloud computing strategy. This includes cloud adoption plans, cloud application design, and cloud management and monitoring. The Cloud Architect will collaborate with IT and business teams to ensure that cloud solutions follow best practices and meet our business objectives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and implement cloud-based architectures and solutions to support enterprise applications and data management.

  • Develop automation for provisioning environments, performing system maintenance, upgrades, and system modernization

  • Lead cloud adoption and migration efforts, including application assessments and optimizations.

  • Provide guidance and expertise on Azure Network Infrastructure around Gateways, Firewalls, Network Load Balancers, Peering

  • Develop and maintain cloud governance, security standards, and best practices.

  • Collaborate with IT security to ensure cloud environments comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams in building cloud-native applications.

  • Evaluate new cloud technologies and services to enhance our cloud architecture and services continuously.

  • Manage cloud expenses and optimize cloud resource usage and cost.

  • Work closely with vendors and service providers to ensure successful cloud service delivery.

What Skills and Experience You Should Bring

  • Expertise as a Cloud Architect or similar role using Azure Cloud.
  • Hands-on understanding of cloud computing technology and infrastructure, as well as cloud deployment and service models.
  • Experience building cloud infrastructure from scratch, including network configuration.
  • Ability to minimize cloud costs and manage costs closely each day.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automation, and orchestration.
  • Experience scripting solutions using PowerShell, Python, or similar high level programming languages.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Certifications in cloud architecture (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, etc.).

  • Experience in the transportation and logistics industry.

  • Familiarity with data analytics and machine learning in cloud environments.

  • Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop.
