Role

Rystad Energy is seeking an ambitious and motivated candidate with a strong academic record of accomplishment, an analytical mindset, good communication skills, with a keen interest in energy markets, particularly the dynamics of crude oil and products in Latin American.

As part of the Oil Markets Team within Rystad Energy's Analysis Department, you will contribute to maintaining and developing our products, database, and insights for clients focused on downstream activities, supply, demand, trade flows, and market balances in the crude oil and oil products sectors.

In this role, you will support our Latin America oil markets initiative and contribute to global projects within the Oil Macro and Trading teams. You'll work closely with a lean, collaborative team in a dynamic environment, interacting with analysts across various global teams and engaging with both local and international clients. As our regional team experiences rapid growth, this internship offers significant career advancement opportunities upon successful completion of the program.

Keyu Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on the major Latin American downstream sector to identify new data sources.
  • Investigate the balances of key Latin American crude grades to uncover additional data sources.
  • Research the major oil products balances in Latin America to discover new data sources.
  • Assist in updating and performing quality control assessments of regional databases.
  • Support the development and expansion of coverage for new assets within existing downstream databases.
  • Support the development and management of dashboards in Power BI
  • Support the development of customized analysis, market reports and country reports
  • Support the development of presentations for client meetings and webinars

 

Requirements

  • Undergraduate student in economics, engineering or administration.
  • Attending the 8th term (semester) and above for 5-year courses or the 6th term and above for 4-year courses
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and written in English
  • Proficient in Excel (basic formulas, pivot tables, Power Query, ability to structure large spreadsheets efficiently), and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with data science and analytical methodologies, including proficiency in R or Python coding languages, is desirable.
  • Data driven, solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Team player, fast learner and interested in energy-related topics particularly as they pertain to Brazil
  • Eager to be part of an international company and have exposure to people from different countries daily
  • The ability to read in Spanish, as well as previous experience with upstream sector is desirable
