Cloud Data Architect

The team, position & mission:

We are looking for a Cloud Data Architect to reinforce our Data intelligence practice. Are you passionate about development? Do you have a strong interest in Data Architecture, development, data modelling, unit testing and CICD interest Cloud solutions? Your key areas of responsibility as a Cloud Data Architect:

• Lead the design and implementation of modern data platform architectures.
  
• Drive the development of robust data pipelines and storage solutions using cutting-edge technologies, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security.
  
• Mentor and guide a team of Data Engineers, ensuring project success and technical excellence.
  
• Partner with clients to define and implement strategic, data-driven solutions.
  
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and obtain relevant certifications to ensure the application of best practices in data architecture

•  Learning and getting certified in technologies that are relevant for you and our clients.
• Sourcing, capturing, transforming and preparing data using the newest technologies such as Kafka, Spark, DBT, Snowflake, BigQuery, Synapse, Databricks, Airflow, Elastic and many more!
• Coaching the Data Engineers and guiding them in the execution of various tasks
• Defining a vision with the client and accompanying them to become a "Data Driven company"

As an ideal candidate you have:

• At least 5 years professional experience with data related ICT projects.
  
• Experience with Modern Data platform architecture rollout from conception to implementation.
  
• Experience with at least one Cloud platform (AWS, Azure, Google cloud).
  
• Experience with Cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Synapse Analytics, Redshift).
  
• Advanced SQL skills, with experience in writing and optimizing complex queries for large datasets.
  
• Experience with SQL orchestration tool such as DBTor Dataform
  
• Deep understanding of data modeling techniques, including relational (Kimball, normalization) and NoSQL databases.
  
• Experience with a least one programming language: Python, Scala , Java,…
  
• Strong experience with CI/CD processes and tools (GIT, Azure DevOps, GitLab).
  
• A fluency in English with strong communication skills.
  
• Conceptual and creative thinking for innovative problem-solving
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or any related field.
  

It is not a requirement, but other preferred qualifications would be:

• Knowledge of Docker and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Openshift, AKS, GKE...) with experience in deploying and managing containerized applications
• Experience with micro-services & event driven architecture
  
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash, Powershell,…
  
• Experience with the DataVault 2.0 modeling methodology.
  
• Knowledge of Data Mesh concept.
  
• Knowledge of Unix environments.
