About the Role 

The sportsbook analyst will work alongside the broader sportsbook and BI teams to help identify areas of opportunity to drive business growth. They will support a culture of data driven decision making, provide actionable insights and recommendations as well as identify key opportunities and efficiencies within the sportsbook. The ideal candidate will be a motivated analytical thinker who thrives in collaborative environments to inform key business decisions.

Key Responsibilities 

• Work closely with the trading, promotion, VIP and other operating teams throughout the business to understand the sportsbook betting journey and behavior
• Develop actionable insights and storylines to drive key business decisions
• Identify key opportunities for additional revenue growth using advanced analytical techniques
• Help build and maintain suite of automated self-service reporting
• Work collaboratively across the BI organization and with our sportsbook stakeholders
• Handle both day to day reactive operational requirements and larger complex projects while being able to meet deadlines

Essential Functions

• Must be able to stand or sit and operate computers and other technological devices for extended periods of time

Qualifications

• 1-3 years commercial experience in analytics, business intelligence or data science
• Advanced use and understanding of SQL
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office especially Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience with programming language a plus (e.g., Python)
• Experience using Power BI and DAX to visualize data (other tools like Tableau are also good experience)
• Experience driving actionable insights from data and presenting recommendations to key stakeholders
• Experience working with large and sometimes incomplete and complex data sets
• Experience in sports betting or gaming not required, an ideal candidate has a good knowledge of sports and interest in sports betting

The annual salary range for this position is $72, 320.00 to $94, 920.00.  Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.  This position is also eligible for participation in a performance-based bonus plan. 
 

Gaming Compliance & Licensing Requirements
 
As an online gaming company, BetMGM is required to comply with state gaming regulations which includes licensing obligations.  Applicable employees must be licensed by at least one jurisdictional agency, although certain positions require licensing by multiple agencies.  Failure to become licensed or maintain licensure with each agency as required for the role may result in termination of employment.  Please note that the licensing process includes comprehensive background checks which may include a review of criminal records, financial history, and personal background verification.

In addition, candidates must comply with and support the company's responsible gambling policies, procedures and initiatives.

Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. The position is also eligible for an annual bonus.
