Job Title- Risk Data and validation lead - APAC

Location- Pune, India

Role Description

Risk Data Close team has oversight and accountability for the Risk Month End Close.  The Risk Close incorporates the finalisation of various Regulatory and Accounting metrics including, but not limited to: Risk Weighted Assets (RWA), Leverage, Total Capital Demand (TCD), Economic Capital, CVA and Credit Loss Provisions.  This is a bank critical function given external reporting requirements.

Work includes:

• Managing accounting and financial risk and providing advice and guidance on strategic initiatives (driven by internal policies and/or external regulation) and new products that impact the entities /processes /utilities with their remit

• Collaborating with relevant stakeholders to provide comprehensive financial reporting and analysis and representing their respective function in relevant internal and external forums

• Developing innovative business solutions and providing strategic advice and guidance to support the execution of business strategy, mitigation of risks and achievement of the bank’s/regions’/ Division’s objectives

Your key responsibilities

  • Responsible for Flash vs actuals and MoM for Total Capital Demand, Leverage Exposure moves, Economic Capital/Expected loss and understand key drivers of the same.
  • Critical role in ensuring the bank can meet Key Risk Metric deliverables (including RWA and Leverage) and adhere to quarterly earnings release and external reporting needs.
  • Provide leadership and insight to quality assurance process including but not limited to innovative solutions with best practices across industry.
  • Provide updates on regulatory assessments to senior management, as necessary, through written communications and briefings.
  • Pro-active planning of Production by understanding Stakeholder/ Regulatory Requirements determining the ME schedule & process​
  • Assesses impact of issues (e.g. raised in production calls, identified while reviewing control dashboard or provided in daily status calls) on report deadlines and Finance processes
  • Prioritize issues and drive resolution during month end close, ensure alignment of adjustments​.

Your skills and experience

  • Master degree with relevant years of work experience in Credit Risk. Preferably CFA and/or FRM
  • Expertise in Basel 3 framework, CRR and CRD IV
  • Sound know-how of banking industry and capital markets and products
  • Thorough understanding of Risk Metrics like RWA, Lev. Exp, EC, EL and their calculation.
  • Ability to analyse data and draw meaningful conclusions
  • Excellent MS Excel skills. Knowledge of SQL, BI tools like BO, MicroStrategy preferred
  • Strong communication and social skills
  • Fluent English. German (oral and written) -good to have
  • Highly motivated, self-directed with strategic view and experience in a risk & control environment
  • Ability to work in a large, complex, dynamic and pressurised environment
