About the opportunity

We are in a period of exciting development within our Finance division, striving to achieve a contemporary service uplift in line with the University’s ambitious strategic plan. As a result, we are seeking a Finance Analyst with proven BI skills to support the seamless design and delivery of fit-for-purpose data visualisations, models, and systems, for budgeting and reporting purposes. Your client-oriented approach is key as you will be building data models and platforms for a diversified client base spanning the wider finance teams and non-financial end users across the university.

In this role, you will be enabling the development and continuous improvement of enterprise-wider finance processes as you take the lead on UAT sessions and roll-out testing. Instilling your user-centric approach, you will be required to troubleshoot and devise effective resolutions for escalated client queries and technical issues.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• support the implementation of an enterprise grade BI solution in line with the university’s strategic direction.

• work closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into data model specifications and visualisations

• design and complete functional testing of reports and models with logged feedback

• generating and supporting reports and data models in Power BI.

About you

• Experience with BI/data visualisation tools – preferably Power BI

• Experience working with finance GL/payroll data will be highly regarded/preferred

• Educational background in business information systems, business analytics or accounting

• Familiarity with data warehousing and dimensional data modelling

• Previous exposure to Oracle reporting and planning would be favourable

• The ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications

• Outstanding presentation, communication and influencing skills

• Flexibility in their organisation and planning skills to balance competing agendas and demands in a fast paced, time pressured environment.
