This position is primarily open to any candidate from a European country (except Italian citizens) who already has a professional knowledge of the Italian language.

Sia Partners is recruiting a VIE in Data Science to support the development of its Milan office.

In relation with all our practices, you will be responsible for all assignments and missions requiring the use complex models for all clients’ problems related to :

• Machine learning and statistics : development of explanatory and predictive decision support models (supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms, econometrics, forecasting, quantitative diagnosis, etc.)
• Operational research : assistance in the design and implementation of constrained optimization solutions and simulation models.
• Big Data : Algorithmic knowledge for processing large volumes of structured and unstructured data
• GenAI :  designing and implementing complex solutions using open-source technologies or partner stacks (Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Bedrock, Mistral.ai La Plateforme, Open AI, etc.) to design, evangelize, and implement state-of-the-art solutions for never-before-solved problems

You will also participate in internal activities for the firm, based on the following axes :

• The development or reinforcement of our offers through training, working groups, internal and external support distribution...
• Publication policy (sector blogs, studies, press releases, etc.).
• Commercial development by contributing to the definition of needs and by participating in commercial actions.

Qualifiche

You have a degree from an engineering school or high-level training in the field of information processing, statistical engineering and econometrics and you ideally have a first experience in Big Data or Data Science (internship or 1st job).
You have an excellent level in statistics and quantitative analysis (theoretical and practical knowledge, intuition, ability to understand and apply models).
You master programming in R (or equivalent: SAS, Matlab...) and have a solid foundation in scripting languages (Python, Perl, JS, bash) or compiled (C++, Java) and/or have experience in UNIX/LINUX environments.
You wish to get involved and quickly take on responsibilities on high added value missions within a dynamic structure.

Languages spoken : French, Italian and fluent English essential.

ELIGIBILITY FOR THE V.I.E - Any application not meeting these criteria will not be considered.

• Anyone over 18 years and under 28 years old at the date of registration is eligible to apply for International Volunteer Service.
• The departure for the mission is no later than the day of your 29th birthday. Beyond this date, no exemption is granted.
• You must be of either a French or European nationality (a national of a member state of the European Economic Area, which includes the 28 member states of the European Union, Norway, Iceland, Lichtenstein) or Monegasque. As the proposed VIE is based in Italy, Italian citizens are not eligible for this position, in accordance with the provisions of Business France.
• You must be in good standing with the national service obligations of the country of which you are a national.
• You must have full civil rights and a clear criminal record.

Starting date of the VIE: ASAP

At the end of the VIE, and depending on your wishes and performance, you will be offered to join our local office or our Data Science team in Italy or abroad.
