Job Purpose

The Engineering Support Specialist position involves general support for a number of ongoing applications, data management and technical initiatives within the Motive Power Application Engineering department. The position requires an in-depth understanding of the impact of engineering data on manufacturing processes and variant configuration. The Engineering Support Specialist position’s responsibilities include technical and operational duties and effectively communicating with engineering day to day duties. These duties will vary based on current projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· The Engineering Support Specialist will interface and work closely with Design Engineering, Application Engineering, Sales and Manufacturing to sustain and improve SAP configuration tool.

· Analyzing large, complex sets of data that meet non-functional and functional business requirements

· Supporting the identification, designing and implementation of internal process improvements including re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes

· Support variant configuration development and SAP Master data information

· Troubleshooting configuration issues

· Understanding E-BOM to M-BOM

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

· Requires a BS in Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical or Informational Technology engineering or appropriate experience.

· A strong working knowledge of or experience with Engineering and Manufacturing as it relates to Bill of Material structures and routings.

· 5 years of ERP or packages software experience.

· Strong analytical and reasoning ability required.

· excellent organizational, interpersonal communication and written skills

· Must have some working knowledge of Variant Configuration module in SAP or concept.

· Able to follow procedures and identify problems.

· Experience working in a team environment.

· Self-starter and able to work independently/remotely.
