Established in 1911, the University of Hong Kong (HKU) is the territory’s oldest institute of higher learning and also an internationally recognized, research led, comprehensive university.Technical Officer in the Division of Nephrology of the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 528796) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Biostatistics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Biological Sciences or a related discipline. They should be responsible, highly motivated and able to work independently. Proficiency in statistical programs (e.g. SPSS, R language, Python) and database management (e.g. Excel) is a prerequisite. Those with expertise in handling and analyzing big data or bioinformatics will have advantages. Fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese) is expected.
The appointee will be responsible for statistical analysis and database management, participating in clinical research projects or assisting in research experiments, and ad hoc duties required.
