Position Overview

Far Ridgeline Engagements LLC (a QinetiQ US Company) is seeking an experienced data engineer with a track record of success in the area of cloud services as part of a growing team with a US Department of Defense operations support project developing modern, cloud-based solutions to securely store and analyze Customer data. This role will be at the forefront of leveraging the latest in data and data analytics technolgoies supporting a diverse range of Client and Client-Customer operational support requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development, maintenance, and operations of Client cloud-based platforms, including expanding the functionality to meet emerging needs and increased user load
  • Monitor and optimize cloud-native resources, maintain correct user access, & troubleshoot user issues; ensure system design is scalable and, wherever possible, automated and scriptable to streamline expansion/replication
  • Organize backlog and develop features and stories, conducting the work in sprints
  • Develop new software features prioritized according to needs gathered from user engagement sessions and contained in the backlog; identify opportunities to automate common tasks for operations and end users
  • Lead meetings and report status to client; coordinate with product owner
  • Remove barriers for Agile SCRUM team to effectively work

Required Qualifications

  • Clear communication skills, ability to train other personnel, and capable to provide 24-hour Client support to technical or troubleshooting requirements
  • Updated awareness and knowledge of security vulnerabilities and capable to administer patches to secure the network from identified vulnerabilities
  • Ability to provide auditing and logging capabilities
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related STEM program. Education requirement may be offset with four (4) years of equivalent level experience as a Cloud Systems Engineer
  • Active TS/SCI clearance; current counterintelligence (CI) polygraph examination; otherwise eligible candidates without a current CI polygraph may be considered if willing to schedule an exam; #QinetiqClearedJob

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with provisioning virtual resources and building infrastructures in AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Digital Ocean commercial clouds
  • Strong scripting experience in automation and configuration of cloud resources
  • Working knowledge of AWS Cloud Formation, JSON, and Python scripting languages
  • Exposure to serverless provisioning such as AWS Lamda or Docker containers with Kubernetes
  • Advanced knowledge of VPCs, VPN intern, and routing both internally and externally within commercial couds
