Job Description:

Specialist System Engineering (Automation QA)

 

Overall Purpose

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Specialist System Engineer (Automation QA) with over 6 years of experience in product testing and a strong focus on automation. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in defect management and production validation, as well as proficiency in various testing tools and methodologies.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

·       Test Automation: Design, develop, and implement automated test scripts for functional and regression testing using Selenium and other relevant tools.

·       Defect Management: Manage the defect lifecycle from identification to resolution using JIRA and Zephyr, ensuring thorough documentation and tracking.

·       API Testing: Conduct API testing using tools like Postman, REST, and SoapUI to ensure reliability and performance of backend services.

·       System-Level Debugging: Utilize debugging techniques to troubleshoot issues at the system level and work closely with development teams to resolve defects.

·       Test Case Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive test cases, test plans, and test reports to ensure complete coverage and compliance with quality standards.

·       Data Analysis: Use SQL for data validation and to support testing efforts, ensuring data integrity and correctness.

·       Agile Collaboration: Work collaboratively in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) teams to define testing strategies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives.

·       Risk Analysis: Perform risk analysis on features and components, identifying potential quality concerns and recommending mitigation strategies.

·       Continuous Improvement: Advocate for and implement best practices in QA automation and testing processes to improve overall product quality.

·       Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with team members and stakeholders, providing updates on testing progress and issues.

Key Competencies

·       Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to identify issues and propose solutions effectively.

·       Team Coordination: Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams and support team members in achieving common goals.

·       Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in testing processes and documentation to ensure high quality.

·       Adaptability: Comfortable adapting to changing requirements and fast-paced environments.

·       Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective interaction with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills

·       6+ years of experience in product testing, with at least 3 years focused on defect management and production validation.

·       Proficiency in JIRA and Zephyr for defect management.

·       Strong expertise in Selenium for test automation.

·       Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, REST, and SoapUI.

·       Technical skills in Java, JavaScript, JMeter, SQL, Maven, and Jenkins.

·       Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices.

·       Proven experience in team coordination and risk analysis in an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environment.

Desired Skills

·       Experience in the telecom industry is a plus.

·       Knowledge of additional automation frameworks and tools.

·       Familiarity with performance testing tools and methodologies.

 

Education & Qualifications

University Degree in Computer Science and/or Analytics

 

Minimum Experience required: 4-6 years in Experienced in API testing (Postman, REST, SoapUI) and JIRA/Zephyr for defect management.
