Responsibilities

Peraton is looking for a Data Scientist to join us in supporting USSTRATCOM on the ITCC II program.  In this role, you’ll serve as a key member of the Engineering team providing subject matter expertise in support of the USSTRATCOM Command Data and Artificial Intelligence directorate.  

 

Key responsibilities include supporting USSTRATCOM customers and their artificial intelligence and machine learning requirements through complex analytics, data science activities, generation of advances in ML algorithms, maximize use of Generative AI approaches, and the application of AI-enabled by these three pillars. 

 

What you’ll do:  

The Data Scientist will be responsible for the following but not limited to:   

  • Office 365 Automation Development
    • VBA Scripting: Automate tasks in Excel, Access, and other Office applications to improve workflows and efficiency. Create custom scripts for data processing and reporting.
    • Power Automate: Design and implement automated workflows that integrate Office 365 apps, SharePoint, and other external services to streamline business processes.
    • Outlook Automation: Automate email processing, notifications, and meeting scheduling using PowerShell or VBA.
  • Data Management and Reporting
    • Power BI: Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports that provide insights from organizational data. Help departments track KPIs and analyze trends.
    • SQL & Python: Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources. Perform data analysis and visualization to support business decision-making.
    • Access Database: Manage databases, design forms, queries, and reports to improve data accessibility and usage within the organization.
  • SharePoint Administrator/Developer
    • SharePoint: Manage and develop SharePoint sites, create automated workflows for document approval, and handle permissions. Collaborate with teams to improve document management processes.
    • Microsoft Forms: Build and integrate forms for data collection, surveys, and feedback that link to SharePoint or other data storage solutions.
  • Process Improvement Consultation
    • Power Automate & PowerShell: Automate repetitive tasks across the Windows and Office environments. Help departments reduce manual workloads through scripting and automation.
    • Data Management: Work with teams to develop data strategies, ensuring data integrity and providing solutions for efficient data storage and retrieval.
  • Process Automation Analysis
    • Windows Automation & Powershell: Automate system administration tasks, like user account management, software deployment, and system monitoring. Troubleshoot Office 365 issues.
    • Microsoft 365 Developer: Develop custom Office add-ins and solutions that address specific business needs, including automating workflows and enhancing collaboration.
  • Business Intelligence and Analytics
    • Power BI: Create business intelligence reports that draw from multiple data sources. Provide insights and predictive analytics for business forecasting.
    • Excel & Python: Analyze large datasets, develop models, and present findings using advanced Excel tools like pivot tables, or Python for more complex statistical analysis.
  • This is a full-time position working onsite during normal daytime business hours

Qualifications

Required qualifications:  

  • BS 5-7, MS 3-5, Phd 0-2 or 9 years commensurate experience in a DoD environment in lieu of degree
  • TS/SCI security clearance

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
