About this opportunity - Background 
Data & Analytics at Energy Efficiency Centre is an area within Volvo Cars working to create Volvos most energy efficient vehicles by enabling and driving analytics and advanced analytics of real-world data sources. Vehicles are becoming increasingly connected, which opens new exciting opportunities to generate value from the generated data.


Scope of the thesis work 
In the future, it will be highly relevant for the vehicle to be able to learn and predict its driver’s usage patterns. These predictions can then be used to control and schedule different vehicle functions.
Your task will be to refine existing and develop new statistical models to predict driver-specific vehicle usage from existing real-world data. Your tasks will include evaluating the achievable prediction accuracies of the models and experiment with proposals for improving the accuracies.


What you´ll bring 
We see that you have a background in Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or other relevant areas and are at the end of finalizing your master´s degree. 

You have a structured approach and an interest in harnessing the potential of real-world data by solving complex problems in pragmatic and creative ways. 

Knowledge in Python and Statistics is meritorious. Fluency in English is required. 


Duration
•    The work will start in [2025-Q1]
•    The duration for this thesis work is 20 weeks.
•    30 ECTS (Master academic credits) if in agreement with your thesis advisor at your university
•    This thesis is suitable for [1] Students.
