Senior Data Scientist

The Sr. Data Scientist performs analysis of multiple data sources using statistical analysis and computer science to solve business problems. Able to communicate analytical results generate improved business decisions and profitability. Uses data mining tools and programming languages to prepare data for analysis and business decision making. Delivers analytical and commercial solutions for internal and external customers. Combine business requirements and existing process and data knowledge to create analytical solutions.

This position sits in our Atlanta Support Center, with an expectation to be onsite 80% of the time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Technical lead for multiple technical and business domains
• Lead the analytical strategy on critical technical capability for company solutions
• Manage and lead program of solutions that generate significant BU/COE revenue
• Design innovative solution components leveraging business and technical expertise
• Design code and solutions that improves productivity to team or department.
• Contribute to evaluation of external data sources and data science capabilities providing quality and accuracy
• Communicate results to senior management and external stakeholders, able to communicate the strategic impact of the work

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 4+ year degree in a STEM field with at least 2-3 years of relevant work experience​ OR PhD in a STEM field with at least 1-2 years of relevant work experience
• Preferred: Master’s degree in a STEM field with 4+ years of relevant experience​.

• Must demonstrate ability to handle 1-2 projects simultaneously with minimal guidance and consistently produce quality deliverables with minimal supervision
• Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise to operate independently and provide informal leadership to others
• Uses sophisticated critical thinking skills, leading others to solve complex problems and takes a broad perspective to identify innovation solutions
• Makes decisions guided by policies in nonstandard situations that impact the achievement of customer, operational, or project objectives
• Forecasts and plans resource requirements for complex projects or initiatives
