What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Data Governance Adherence, you will play a critical role in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating data risks across the organization. Your responsibilities will encompass data governance, risk assessment, reporting, and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the effectiveness of the enterprise’s Data & Records Management program.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Product Ownership – Gain expert knowledge and understanding of EDRMO data governance policy, standards, procedures, and processes and key controls within EDRMO and support continuous improvement of the same, to ensure a sustainable Enterprise Data Governance Practice. Support the data risk assessment processes as required to ensure effective management of data risk as assessed and identified through processes such as Change Initiative Risk Assessment (CIRA), Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Technology Triage, and Third Party Risk Assessment (TPRA).

  • Data Governance and Risk Management: Maintain enhancements to the Data & Records Management program's governance framework. Act as a Subject Matter Expert for data & records risk assessments. Monitor adherence to data policies and standards, ensuring completeness of assessments and adequate risk mitigation. Participate in the development, maintenance, and review of data & records management policies, standards, and procedures. Collaborate with teams to define, communicate, and prioritize data and records-related business requirements for information protection. Work with functional experts across various departments (Risk, Compliance, Technology, etc.) to integrate data & records management considerations into the risk management framework.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting:  Collect, organize, and analyze inventory and outcomes of data risk assessments to create reports and dashboards that provide insights into business performance and risk metrics. Perform ad hoc analysis to answer specific business questions as it relates to understanding and addressing data risk. Interpret data findings and translate them into actionable insights for decision-making. Present findings and reports to stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.  

Who You Are

  • You have a degree/diploma in a relevant field (e.g., Information Management, Data Management, Business Administration).

  • You can demonstrate experience in risk management (3-5 years), control testing, data governance, data analysis, or information management. Experience in supporting enterprise-wide data governance programs is a strong asset

  • Strong understanding of risk management framework including risk assessments and risk mitigation practices, with understanding and awareness of data management best practices and data lifecycle management.
