Position Overview: 

Based in Toronto or Montreal, the selected candidate will lead our cross firm data efforts and help to achieve our data vision. The role is one part asset management business acumen and one part technical and is responsible for the development, evolution and and success of our business ontology which is a representation of our business within our data platform. The selected candidate will also be leading our data platform roadmap and the realization of data platform capabilities including dashboards, workflows, the incorporation of applied AI and solving specific use cases as part of the roadmap to achieve our data platform vision. 

Responsibilities: 

• Create, evolve, and maintain the business ontology that represents the company's operations within the data platform.
• Drive cross-functional data efforts to achieve the company's overarching data vision. ● Develop a comprehensive roadmap for the data platform's evolution and enhancement. ● Prioritize initiatives based on business value and feasibility.
• Oversee the development and implementation of the data pipeline, and dashboards for data visualization and insights.
• Work within our data platform to create seamless experiences.
• Implement workflow systems to streamline business processes and improve efficiency.
• Work closely with business leaders, IT teams, and other stakeholders to understand needs and deliver data solutions.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field. Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) is preferred.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in data management, data architecture, or related roles.
• Extensive experience within the asset management or financial services industry. ● Proven track record of leading cross-functional data initiatives and projects. ● Experience in developing and managing business ontologies and data models. ● Familiarity with data platform technologies, dashboards, workflows, and applied AI solutions.
• Some hands on experience with SQL, python or typescript
