Material Master Data Lead

Position Summary: 

The Material Master Lead will support operations by monitoring and analyzing master data, key data, and master relationship data within the organization. The lead promotes ‘single-source-of-truth’, data-driven utilization out of integrated systems and data organized across the business. The individual will act as a mentor to the Material Master Analysts and act as a subject matter expert to provide guidance as necessary for master data management.

Essential Job Functions:

• Lead a team on material master data analysts accountable for the creation and maintenance of product material master data in SAP and corresponding applications.
• Delegate responsibilities amongst the team as necessary, ensuring the adherence of deadlines as well as the supervision of intake process and integration.
• Develop and implement strategies to translate business requirements and models into feasible and acceptable data warehouse designs to ensure that business needs are met.
• Aid in the establishment and leadership of global Material Master Data governance processes for product to ensure a high quality of data throughout all systems and identify areas for data quality improvements to help resolve data quality problems.
• Provide guidance & training other team members and business partners on material master data standards, protocols, and impacts; communicate and liaise with business units to thoroughly understand business requirements and impact of material master data changes.
• Validate, prioritize, and execute requests for mass maintenance to ensure the appropriate standards and governance rules are maintained; apply business rules and best practices when reviewing requests to identify errors in global data fields and reject, escalate, or remediates errors.
• Ensure quality of material master data in key systems, as well as development and documentation of processes and data governance with other functional data owners to support ongoing maintenance and data integrity.
• Take the lead in the application and implementation procedures of data standards and guidelines on data ownership, coding structures, and data replication to ensure access to and integrity of product data sets.
• Provide material data troubleshooting and consulting in support of business and information technology initiatives to improve database systems.
• Ensure quality of material master data in key systems, as well as development and documentation of processes with other functional data owners to support ongoing maintenance and data integrity.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in data science, data management, computer science or related field preferred.
• Between 3-5 years of experience in data analysis or computer programming preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in data governance & project management preferred
• Strong attention to detail abilities with hands-on experience.
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, SAP or other database systems, Power BI, SQL, Python, SharePoint
• Good personal computer and business solutions software skills.
• Good communication skills to communicate with the business, team members, external data providers, and management.
• Good skills in data administration, design, and architecture.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to address multiple projects in a timely manner and adhere to deadlines.

Base Pay Range: 63,000k - 72,000k per year
