Job Description

What you'll get to do: 

• Facilitate effective communication between the business and the BI department, ensuring relevant updates and news flow smoothly in both directions to align teams on priorities and data-driven decisions. 
• Oversee and orchestrate the strategic roadmapping process, ensuring alignment with business goals while driving the long-term vision for the department. 
• Lead sprint planning and ensure project timelines are adhered to, actively monitoring progress and coordinating efforts to keep projects aligned with department goals. 
• Mentor and guide a team of two BI professionals, fostering professional development, collaboration, and a growth-oriented environment while aligning team goals with business objectives. 
• Promote a self-service analytics culture through trainings, documentation, and proactive engagement with teams to ensure widespread use of BI tools and data-driven decision-making. 
• Design and scale dbt data models, optimizing for efficiency and ensuring scalability to meet business requirements. 

Qualifications

What you should bring: 

Experience and Technical Expertise: 

• 7+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, Data Scientist, or similar analytical role, including 1+ year of leadership experience.
• Deep understanding in SQL and skilled in designing, building, and maintaining scalable dbt models with best practices for data modeling, documentation, and version control.
• Expertise in BI tools like Tableau for complex data visualization and reporting.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis, including building integrations, developing forecasting models, and applying machine learning or predictive modeling techniques.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: 

• Competencies at navigating ambiguous, undocumented datasets, identifying anomalies, uncovering patterns, and modeling data for business analysts.
• Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders to understand business processes generating data.
• Experience with ETL/ELT processes, automation, and optimizing data pipelines to support business operations and analytics. 

Communication, Leadership, and Project Management Skills: 

• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex technical data into actionable insights for diverse teams. 
• Demonstrated proficiency to manage and prioritize multiple projects, focusing on scoping, information gathering, timely delivery, and alignment with business objectives.
