Job Title: Assistant Manager, LSE Research & Analytics, Equities Trading
This Assistant Manager role will sit within the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and Turquoise Research & Analytics team, supporting the Equities Trading division.
The LSE and Turquoise Research & Analytics team supports both the Primary Markets and Equities Trading divisions, including their business development, business management and product teams, as well as wider teams who are utilising data related to primary market activities and secondary market trading.
This role will support the Equities Trading team who are responsible for the London Stock Exchange, Turquoise and Turquoise Europe trading venues.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the LSE and Turquoise Business and Product Development teams to capture new business opportunities and maintain ongoing client relationships through providing data and statistics on a regular and ad-hoc basis through automated and manual reports.
- Develop business insights and visualisations demonstrating a diverse range of analytics tools and techniques.
- Usage of SQL and business intelligence tools (mainly SAP Business Objects and Snowflake) to query the data warehouse, build and maintain reports as well as investigate data issues.
- Assist with automation of reports using SAP Business Objects for the scheduled delivery of trading data to internals and externals.
- Creating and maintaining of dashboards in Tableau to support monitoring of key business performance metrics whilst ensuring accuracy.
- Additional opportunity to conduct deep dive analyses on trading statistics, trading member behaviour and trading schemes performance.
- Usage of Python for manipulating and analysing complex trades and orders datasets.
- Support the development and production of new analysis and reports for senior management.
- Support with translation of business needs into data analysis and reporting solutions through regular engagements with key users and ultimately communicate/provide recommendations with regards to results and methodologies.
- Determine data to be collected and define methodology and analytics tools to be used for processing data and for visualising the results of the analysis.
- Record and maintain process manuals of workflows in managing timely delivery and business continuity.
- Work closely with business & technology teams to identify and resolve any data issues which may impact reporting; this includes understanding upcoming business changes which could impact the data warehouse and reporting tools.
- Utilise technical and analytic skills to ensure coordinated, accurate and consistent data reporting across the group.
- Leads the training and development for junior staff, enhancing the knowledge of the team.

Candidates with the following background are preferred:
- Demonstrable experience of SQL is a minimum requirement.
- Experienced in Tableau for creation and maintenance of dashboards.
- Demonstrable experience building sophisticated reports in Business Objects
- Experience in using Python for data analysis.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office products with sophisticated Excel usage.
- Experience of managing and leading a small team including line manager responsibilities and coaching/guiding junior colleagues.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
- Preferably previous work experience within the following types of institutions: trading venues, banks, brokers, fund managers, rating agencies or market data vendors.
- Excellent numerical ability, experience in analysis of data and reports research and report production with a high attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently with excellent time management and be able to priorities tasks and adapt to unexpected changes.
- A confident communicator, able to interact with users at all levels both internally and externally.
- Demonstrates the ability to proactively look for solutions when presented with a problem.
- Keen interest for learning new things and has active record of transitioning takeaways into delivery/ workflows.
- 5+ years relevant work experience.
- An interest in financial markets is essential.
