Please explore this opportunity to join us as a Senior Data Scientist for our government client in the Washington DC Metropolitan area. 

Responsibilities: 

• Corresponding with a team of engineers to perform data analysis, modeling, and research to understand and interpret data predictions, relationships, and trends 
• Working with end users to help educate them in SQL, Python, and/or R, preferably with Apache Spark 
• Create queries, reports, and technical presentations 
• Identifying patterns in data in complex data sets 
• Comprehension of the latest AI/ML technology trends, developments and best practices to define new process improvement opportunities 
• Ensuring successful completion of work and timeliness of deliverables 
• Providing status updates to senior members of the team and working with management to identify and prioritize business needs. 
• Owns vendor point of contact and vendor partner program responsibilities with one or more vendors relevant to your subject matter expertise. 
• Builds/Implements AI/ML models/agents, etc. of varying types primarily on Azure and/or AWS. This may include supporting AI/ML technologies as well e.g. retrieval augmented generation (RAG). 
• Problem solver willing to consider/create out-of-the-box thinking to solve problems for our clients to meet their business objectives. 
• Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

Required Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, business analytics or related field 
• 7 years of experience in data analysis, data modeling, data profiling, data research, and data management 
• Extensive experience working with data in SQL, Python, and/or R 
• Experience and understanding in a wide variety of AI/ML technologies, open source models, and algorithms. 
• Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills 
• Desire to dig in, learn and contribute to new challenges regardless of technology boundaries or traditional role definitions. 
• Experience with AI/ML on AWS, Azure and/or Google Cloud 
• Experience with frontier generative models available on a myriad of cloud services 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

Desired Skills: 

• Experience with Github 
• Experience with migrating SAS code to Python/R/Spark preferred 
• Knowledge of broad reaching technology concepts including Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) 

eSimplicity supports a remote work environment operating within the Eastern time zone so we can work with and respond to our government clients. Expected hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern unless otherwise directed by your manager. 

Occasional travel for training and project meetings. It is estimated to be less than 5% per year.
