Specialist - Engagement Insights and Analytics

Chegg is looking for a data analyst with 4-5 years of experience to join our team as a Sr. Associate/Specialist in Expert Insights group. This role requires a strong analytical mindset and a passion for deriving insights from complex datasets. Designation will be offered based on candidate’s experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to answer specific business questions.
• Use data and analytical/statistical methods to provide insights into business performance
• Core analytics: derive insights on catalog performance, customer engagement with the catalog, and operational performance and trends
• Create highly optimized SQL queries to retrieve data from DBs. Will be involved in complex datasets and schemas understanding.
• Create configurable data models in Excel, Python, and/or R, develop forecast models, develop and implement impactful reports and dashboards.
• Perform statistical tests on data, A/B testing, and different sample analysis.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to discover patterns, trends, and anomalies in any type of data.
• Lead, conduct, and present ad-hoc analyses to inform operational and business decisions.
• Lead and perform thoughtful and detailed research and analysis to support business cases and prove/disprove hypotheses
• Identify opportunities to enhance data processes and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Skills:

• 4+ years of experience as Data Analyst is a must, should have experience working with large datasets
• Advanced SQL skills (SQL, MySQL, Redshift, Databricks)
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint
• Python and coding knowledge to setup ETL jobs for data movement
• Experience with visualization or reporting tool: SSRS, Tableau, Power BI etc.
• Ability to perform descriptive and inferential analysis.
• Good knowledge of statistical methods and concepts viz. regression, variance, standard deviation, percentile etc
• Ability to communicate clearly with every level in the organization.
• BS/MS in Preferred fields: Science, Math, Engineering, Statistics preferred
