Responsibilities: Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Update software or enhance existing software capabilities. Design and engineer software systems part of the next generation Autodesk Machine. Learning (ML) Platform to support full ML lifecycle management. As part of the initial and core set of engineers, tactically advocate for best development practices while strategically driving long term technology direction for the team. Identify opportunities to automate and streamline processes to improve ML development. Build end-end systems to automate time-consuming processes, like feature engineering. Build tools for building & deploying ML solutions to production applications. Automate and orchestrate tasks for managing big data sets. Build large scale data stores that house ML artifacts like models, features, parameters. Build low latency. prediction/inference services. Work across a diverse group of machine learning researchers, developers, product managers, software architects and operations. Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States. Telecommuting is permitted.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field and six (6) years of experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineer-related occupation. Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States. Telecommuting is permitted.

Special Requirements:  Position requires at least six (6) years of experience in each of the following skills:

  • Utilize knowledge of implementing serverless architectures with AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, and API Gateway to build scalable, event-driven applications.

  • Utilize knowledge of programming and software engineering, with a depth of experience in crafting elegant, to deliver high-performance software solutions, leveraging best practices and architectural patterns.

  • Utilize knowledge of expert mastery in architecting, deploying, and fine-tuning Machine Learning inference pipelines within AWS SageMaker, showcasing an in-depth understanding of distributed systems, model optimization to build production-grade machine learning solutions

  • Utilize knowledge of orchestrating complex MLOps workflows to automate model training and serving, leveraging a sophisticated stack that includes Terraform, Jenkins, and Spinnaker, showcasing an intricate understanding of continuous integration and deployment principles in the realm of machine learning.

  • Utilize knowledge of implementing advanced DevOps principles by harnessing the power of Docker for Amazon ECS and Kubernetes for Amazon EKS, architecting microservices and orchestrators with precision, to build cloud-native, containerized solutions at scale.

  • Utilize knowledge of creating intricate model versioning, alerting, and observability mechanisms for models deployed in production environments, to ensure a seamless transition from development to real-world deployment, with a keen focus on model performance, system health, and actionable insights.

  • Utilize knowledge of advanced model experimentation platforms, including MLflow, Kubeflow, and Metaflow, showcasing a deep understanding of model development, iteration, and performance optimization to develop sophisticated, end-to-end machine learning ecosystem.

  • Utilize knowledge of enterprise-grade data platforms, adeptly harnessing Apache Airflow, relational and non-relational data stores to design and manage intricate data pipelines that empower organizations with secure, scalable, and high-performance data solutions.

Salary transparency  

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $190,754 - $198,000/year. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
