We are looking to recruit an ambitious, tenacious and confident Data Manager to manage our data team within Ecommerce/Procurement who will work hard in making a success of the BSOL Procurement Collaborative. If that is, you then we want to hear from you.
Birmingham and Solihull Procurement Collaborative (BSOL PC) team hosted by UHB, is responsible for providing dedicated strategic contract management oversight to all Trusts of which BSOL PC are responsible for, which includes.

The post holder will lead and manage the data team. We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience of financial systems, reporting development and presentation experience, SQL, BI, database management who is organised, enthusiastic, confident and great at working with people.
They will provide a professional analytical information service to the BSOL Collaborative by extracting and designing intelligence from a variety of electronic and manual information systems, and by using the most effective information technology products for the analysis and presentation of information outputs.
Main duties, tasks & skills required
PRIMARY DUTIES & AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
1.Ensure all procurement systems are managed, updated and maintained on an ongoing basis.
2.Work with multiple systems across 5 trusts to extract and manipulate data
3.Apply your skills in BI, SQL, data management and analytics to provide business performance insight alongside the data, identifying trends and possible causes to allow effective decision-making.
4.Provide line management, supervision and guidance to group of junior members of staff within the data team, ensuring that their skills are effectively utilised, work is appropriately prioritised, and their potential is developed through PDRs, relevant coaching and support.
5.Lead on the development & presentation of KPIs and Reports and contribute to discussions where areas for improvement are identified.
6.To ensure that regular, timely and accurate information is provided to Finance/Procurement.
7.To scope design, develop and maintain information reporting systems, databases, integrated and automated dashboards and query tools required to support the Trust & its divisions on a routine basis.
8.To ensure the timely provision of accurate statutory information returns to the Department of Health, the NHS Executive and commissioners of services.
9.To maximise the use of Information Technology Systems and business intelligence tools in the discharge of the duties of the post.

Qualifications
Essential
*Educated to degree level in I.T, SQL, BI or equivalent experience.
*Knowledge of a range of statistical/numerical techniques, procedure acquired through qualification to degree level equivalent relevant experience
*Evidence of continuous professional development
*Information or Data Analysis qualifications
Desirable
*Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) Foundation level.
*ECDL qualified to level 2 or equivalent
Experience
Essential
*Extensive experience of managing staff in a large and complex organisation preferably within the NHS.
*Experienced of working within set timeframes and managing changing priorities / deadlines to meet challenging targets
*Good understanding of the importance and usefulness of accurate and timely data analysis.
*Good understanding of Information Governance Principles
*Always expert Up to date knowledge strive to provide quality service, proactive
*Experienced in the set up and use of a data warehouse
*Advanced analytical skills; able to extract and manipulate highly complex data for all systems, for a significant proportion of the day.
*Significant experience of working with relational databases in the provision of information services.

*Understanding and experience of data modelling and definitions
*Knowledge of data security and data confidentiality
Desirable
*Experience of NHS or other Health Care Information Governance
*Experience of NHS based information systems
*Experience of NHS Trust systems and datasets
*Working knowledge of project principles, techniques and tools such as PRINCE 2 and complete familiarity with Microsoft Office.

*Highly developed I/T skills across the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
*Ability to work on own initiative to achieve agreed objectives, with advice when required from the manager.
