What You'll Bring:

  • Master’s or PhD degree in statistics, applied mathematics, financial mathematics, engineering, operations research, computer science or another highly quantitative field
  • 10+ years of experience performing analytic work in Financial Services
  • 5+ years of team management or leadership experience
  • Demonstrated domain expertise and professional engagement with the mortgage and tenant-screening industries
  • Deep knowledge and hands-on expertise in predictive modeling, statistical inference, machine learning, and other advanced analytical techniques
  • Experience using programming and data manipulation languages (SQL, R, Python, C/C++, Java, Scala, etc.)
  • Comfort acting as a champion of change, being able to influence others to adopt new concepts and practices

We'd Love to See:

  • Experience in a highly regulated industry
  • Experience creating formal presentations to large and senior-level groups
  • Working familiarity with cloud-computing environments

Impact You'll Make:

As a member of the Data Science & Analytics (DS&A) management team, the Director leads experienced analytic professionals in the design, development, and implementation of custom solutions and products for both external and internal customers across the mortgage and tenant-screening business domains.  The focus of the team is to apply machine learning, predictive analysis, and data-mining techniques to develop accurate, explainable, and replicable solutions for our clients.

  • Leading a team to use statistical and machine learning techniques to create high-performing models that comply with regulatory and privacy requirements and address business objectives and client needs
  • Maintaining a current understanding of issues facing the mortgage and tenant-screening industries and providing thought leadership to relevant TransUnion businesses
  • Presenting analysis, progress reports and results to internal and external customers and industry stakeholders
  • Acting as a champion of change, influencing others to adopt new concepts and practices
  • Managing time across multiple projects, to balance a highly variable workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Thinking critically and solving problems creatively
  • Communicating results and ideas to key decision makers
  • Collaborating with direct reports to develop technical/business approaches and new or enhanced technical tools
  • Participating in collaboration for implementation
  • Independent execution of the full range of personnel-related functions (talent acquisition and pipeline management, training, development, goal setting, and performance management) and business functions (revenue planning, budgeting, capacity planning, resource allocation, project management, work measurement, management reporting, and M&A support)

Pay Scale Information :

The salary range for this position is $157,205.00 - $266,500.00. *The salary range for this position reflects the general range of compensation for this job and does not include our bonus incentive(s). This position is eligible for bonus incentive(s). At TransUnion, actual compensation is based on careful consideration of additional factors such as (but not limited to) an individual’s education, training, work experience, job-related skill set, industry knowledge, as well as the scope and responsibilities of the position, and market considerations.
