Senior Front-End Engineer - Remote

Role

Keelvar has an exciting opportunity to join our Engineering Team as a Senior Front-End Software Engineer. This role is remotely based in either Ireland, Germany, the UK or Spain.

Reporting to one of our Engineering Managers, you will be part of a critical group responsible for supporting and building new and existing features with a cross functional team. The successful candidate will join a group of engineers from different backgrounds including; Software Dev, QA, ML, Data Science, UI and Product design.

Responsibilities

• Lead and work within a cross-functional development team of engineers, driving the technical design and architecture of key features in our platform.

• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, ensuring that features are scalable, adaptable, and aligned with best practices. You possess a deep understanding of common software design patterns and architectural principles.

• Play a key role in code reviews, technical design sessions, and mentorship, providing guidance to less-experienced team members to promote continuous improvement in the team.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues as they arise, proactively identifying areas of improvement and addressing blockers for the team.

• Deploy code, support and monitor the areas of the system you work in. Communicate effectively with your cross functional team to ensure a quality-first approach in all development activities.

• Get involved with the team to help create concise documentation which can clearly articulate complex technical problems to a wider audience.

• Help to build a culture where we own features and see them through from design to completion. 

• Lead by example in fostering a collaborative and fast-paced culture, contributing to the growth and success of the organization.

• Gain an understanding of customer needs and how we aim to deliver on them. 

• Work with the Engineering & Product team to gain an understanding of Keelvar systems, dev practices and technology footprint.

• Break down complex features, accurately estimate work, and ensure delivery of high-quality code on schedule.

Your profile

• Strong proficiency and at least 5+ years experience in software development ideally developing SaaS solutions in an agile environment.

• Hands-on experience with Vue.js, experience with Angular would be a bonus.

• Deep expertise in JavaScript & TypeScript. Experience with Python is a plus. 

• Working knowledge of a cloud platform, Azure, Google Cloud or preferably AWS. 

• Proficient in using source control repositories like GitHub and an advocate for best practices in version control.

• Strong hands-on experience of writing unit tests and UI test frameworks.

• Good communication and leadership skills, able to articulate technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and disseminate information effectively across teams.
