Samsung Denmark Research Centre (SDRC) in Aalborg, Denmark, has the status of Centre of Excellence in Bluetooth development and delivers the Bluetooth solution to both Samsung’s own products, and to other manufacturers of wireless technologies.
Samsung Cambridge Solution Center (SCSC) in Cambridge, England, is developing and delivering cutting-edge Wi-Fi solutions to Samsung’s own products, and to other manufacturers of wireless technologies.
We now have an open role in the Software Infrastructure department, which is developing the software foundation that both the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi protocol software relies on; the department therefore, has teams in both Cambridge and Aalborg: We work closely together to deliver high-quality, on-time solutions. Furthermore, the team is engaging with development teams located in Asia and North America.
The Software Infrastructure department is involved in the development efforts from the specification of the chip and software architecture, to the development of software features, and supporting our customers. A considerable part of the work is therefore rooted in hardware-near software that is linking the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi protocol software with the hardware. The department is a good mixture of engineers who recently graduated from university and engineers who have a lot of experience from the industry, which is a powerful and successful combination.
You will be working from our location in Aalborg, and can expect some business trips of a shorter duration to your colleagues in Cambridge.

Your Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

It will be an advantage if you have experience with one or more of the following, and you are keen to learn the rest:

• Understanding of architecture, code structure, and algorithms
• C-programming
• Experience with or knowledge of Arm Cortex A/R/M in high-performance and power efficient embedded solutions
• Interfaces for data transfer (PCIe, I2S, shared memory, UART, and SPI)
• Profiling and optimisation of embedded software based on memory consumption, execution time, latencies analysis.
• Lauterbach/JTAG and Trace32 software for debugging and tracing
• Understanding of hardware and schematics
• Focus on automation of e.g. measurement and performance profiling systems. We are making use of e.g. Machine Learning in our systems
• Continuous integration and version control (Git, Gerrit, Jenkins)
• Python for writing test scripts, and scripts that automate trivial tasks
• Android kernel driver development.
