Pricing Analyst (VIE)

ArcelorMittal Europe Long Products (AME LP) is operating a network of 10 steel plants, 17 rolling mills and multiple downstream units, producing and commercialising over 9 million tons per year. 

Aiming to optimize its operations, AME LP is looking for a Pricing Analyst to join the central marketing team. 

In this position, you will get a chance to work in data analytics, reporting automation, pricing approval processes improvement. The main responsibilities will include preparing, consolidating and designing reports about offers, order entries, order book & invoicing that enable the Management to follow, monitor and take decisions regarding pricing targets per product /market. 

This involves closely collaboration with Commercial team, Digitalisation team, data scientists and IT. Interacting with internal clients and identifying areas where data analysis or process improvement can bring value in existing business is a key aspect of the job.

This position is well suited for a candidate who has an analytical mindset to create actionable insights and make recommendations based on data driven results.  

The candidate shall also play an active role in improving the quality of the reporting process. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analysis of data from order entry, offers, invoicing etc. to identify trends to support pricing decisions and identify areas of improvements.    
  • Use technical skills in Python, SQL and SAP ERP to automate data collection and reporting processes.
  • Drive sales planning processes covering most recent forecast and budget planning.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to design, implement and develop the reporting system and pricing tools, acting as a key user in the process.
  • Develop ad hoc analysis and reporting to provide timely and accurate information to stakeholders and support decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness and capabilities, through process improvements, technology solutions, and other means.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders through presentations & reports

Commercial team support:

  • Support sales agencies in issues related to Offer - Deal – Order
  • Maintenance of pricing extras (Profile/Grade/Length etc.) and components of profitability (Freight costs, Variable costs etc.) in various platforms
  • Register rebate and commission provisions in order entry / offer systems
  • Drive change management for commercial stakeholders.

Project Management / IT tools:

  • Coordination with IT for new developments & testing
  • Monthly uploads of Cost Forecast & Price Guideline
  • Improvements of our current pricing processes (approval flows for offers, orders etc.)

 

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in business, statistics, economics, or related field
  • Preferably 2+ years of experience in data analytics, or related field
  • Strong technical skills in Python or SQL and experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Excel/Power Query, SharePoint or Power Automate
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to collect, analyse, and interpret complex data sets
  • ERP system experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Some experience in change management, project management and ad-hoc analysis are an advantage
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Adaptable and agile - able to work effectively in a very fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Fluency in English is required, knowledge of additional European languages is a plus.
