Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Principal Investigator and in collaboration with staff and students, the Data Analyst II provides data management functions to advising on optimal data collection and management strategies for community-engaged research and evaluation projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advising on optimal data collection and management strategies for community-engaged research and evaluation projects.
  • Developing data collection tools, platforms, databases, and other programs as needed.
  • Developing and maintaining data dictionaries and protocols.
  • Maintaining physical and electronic data filing system(s) and overseeing data tracking to ensure confidentiality and completion of data collection, entry, and analysis efforts.
  • Managing data cleaning and preparation from a variety of sources including institutional records data, publicly available datasets, and project-related data in accordance with Institutional Review Board requirements, individual projects, and center needs.
  • Working with IT staff to ensure online platforms are accessible and functional for project needs.
  • In conjunction with University IT staff, ensuring that data security meets or exceeds current Information Security Policy and Standards or equivalent guidelines for the University, the various funders, and the Institutional Review Board.
  • Providing tools/methods for appropriate data access by authorized individuals.
  • Providing data analysis as needed for publications, reports, grant development, and project improvement initiatives.
  • The Data Analyst II will also be available to assist with the preparation of technical and methodological descriptions for publications and grant proposals as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned

 

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attend regular staff meetings within the unit.
  • Attend meetings and events related to the Center for AIDS Research and broader CDU functions as needed.
  • Attending training as appropriate to fulfill requirements, update job skills and promote development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

 EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, psychology, or related field is required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of five years community-based research experience required.
  • Prior experience working with diverse populations in community-based settings is highly desirable.
  • Experience coordinating research activities and supervision of staff and students is also desirable.
  • Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis is required.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITY/SKILLS:

  • Computer skills including knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, and statistical analysis and data collection packages and technologies is required.
  • Individual in this position must be able to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Valid driver’s license and own transportation.

COMPLEXITY:

  • The ability to perform highly detailed work with sustained attention and care while providing/obtaining information on numerous inquiries is paramount to success in this position.

Compensation:

  • $75,000 annually

Position Status:

  • Full Time
