Lead Analyst – Nectar360 Digital Analytics

Who we are: Nectar360 is a fully integrated loyalty, insights and media services agency, operating the UKs largest loyalty programme, helping some of the UKs biggest brands to build impactful relationships with their customers.  Alongside this, we are also uniquely positioned to link online media exposure, through to actual in-store supermarket spend, allowing us to precisely target and measure the effectiveness of digital campaigns.

Do you take satisfaction in seeing your recommendations implemented in the real world? Are you analytically creative and motivated by new challenges? Do you have a passion for working with data to drive insight and customer understanding?

We’re recruiting an ambitious Lead Analyst to report into an Analytics Manager and work closely with decision makers in Nectar360 & Sainsbury’s to drive our digital measurement and analytics proposition for FMCG and agency clients. Alongside overseeing the prioritisation and delivery of our BAU media measurement, you will take a leading role in driving our analytics pipeline, continued development of our measurement offering and bespoke analytical propositions that leverage Nectar customer data to drive digital media optimisations, providing value for clients and Nectar360. This is a great opportunity for an eager individual with an interest in digital analytics across a range of onsite and offsite capabilities.

The role is based in the Sainsbury’s Office in Holborn, on average 1-2 days a week, with home working expected the remainder of the time.

What will you be doing?

  • Support the team in measuring the performance of online campaigns for suppliers, including off-site (DV360, META, Sky) and on-site (Sainsbury’s Groceries Online) media.
  • Lead on the development and execution of our digital measurement & analytics pipeline, including bespoke customer insights propositions that drive added value for clients.
  • Ensure analytical projects are fit for purpose, delivered on time and with quality, and have a measurable impact for our clients and Nectar360 revenue.
  • Propose innovative analytical solutions, leveraging both Nectar and Sainsbury’s data.
  • Oversee prioritisation and resource planning of the Digital Analytics team.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis that helps us build better, more efficient campaigns and inform the creation of whitepapers to promote our capabilities.
  • Deal with a significant range of stakeholders across the Nectar360 business to advise on the optimal way to execute and analyse Digital Media to Clients. This includes working with our client services teams to customise and cater reports to client needs and inform our trading team on effective online campaign management.
  • Develop strong working relationships with our stakeholders, and have a proactive approach to promoting our team and understanding where we can add value.
  • Support and develop other analysts, ensuring their wellbeing and skill development, with potential for line management.
  • A proactive approach to improve innovation and automation, bringing together disparate complex data sources into new analytical projects and propositions.

What we would like you to have:

  • 4+ years’ experience in an analytics role, ideally with a focus on marketing measurement or customer insight.
  • Strong experience of large databases and analytical tools (including SQL, VBA, R or Python). 3+ years of practical SQL experience is required.
  • Proven ability to analyse marketing performance and incrementality, delivering analysis that has measurable commercial impact.
  • Excellent communication skills with proven success of translating data into effective and influential insight.
  • A proactive personality who can engage and collaborate with internal stakeholders and clients whilst looking to deliver analytical value.
  • Great communication skills, with the ability to translate data into effective and influential insight.
  • Experience of line management is desirable.
  • Advanced Excel skills to be able to manipulate data and produce advanced workbooks.
  • Experience of BI tools (e.g. Tableau or Business Objects) and AWS/Snowflake is advantageous.
  • Experience of statistical and data science techniques (regression models, clustering, statistical tests) is advantageous.
  • A proven track record of process improvement or automation. Experience with data cleaning platforms like InfoSum also advantageous.

This role will suit you if:

  • You’re looking to grow your career in a fast paced, commercial environment.
  • You’re developing your skills through exposure to interesting work coupled with responsibility for developing a team of talented analysts.
  • You thrive on excellence all the way. More than just attention to detail, you need to be ready to recommend the best techniques as well as deliver accurately and on time.
  • You’re looking for variety and new challenges. We work with a wide range of contacts across Nectar360 and Sainsbury’s, providing analytical advice to multiple business units. No two questions are the same, so you’ll need to be analytically creative whilst thinking on your feet to understand the real question we need to answer.

  • Holiday allowance
  • Bonus scheme
