WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT

Drive good practice and policy conformance in People data governance and privacy to enable high quality and robust people data to be available to the right people at the right time.

This global role delivers across People Function initiatives to drive data governance processes, including ensuring adherence to our Group data policies, facilitating good data governance in partnership with our data owners and stewards and championing data privacy. This role partners closely across the People Function, Technology, Privacy and the Enterprise Information Governance Office.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The People Data Governance team enables LSEG to deliver business value through good quality people data and to build employee and customer trust in LSEG as an ethical user of personal data. We do this through clear standards, permissions, protection, data quality and governance processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the analysis of all new People Function initiatives from a data governance starting point, ensuring any new data is collected, and new purposes and processing is aligned with LSEG data strategy and conforms to our Group policies.
  • Establish and govern a People data governance implementation roadmap including strategic priorities for development.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to enable strong data governance in conformance with the enterprise-wide data governance framework and the Data Development Lifecycle (DDLC), with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to organisation behaviour, standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture.
  • Partner with our Privacy team and act as a champion for data privacy in the organisation.
  • Monitor indicators of performance and governance quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements in partnership with the Enterprise Information Governance Office.
  • Lead Senior Management, comprising resources from the Business and Functional areas and IT business and operations functions, to work towards their goals; resolve issues raised by data governance representatives.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY

The Senior Manager, People Data Governance has a direct report. The role also provides the opportunity to lead in matrix on specific projects and requires hands on work.

  • A proven track record in people data management in a large scale and complex international business
  • Detailed understanding of people systems and data structures
  • Detailed knowledge of data standard development and process governance
  • Detailed knowledge of data privacy requirements and considerations
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies, external market and partners in data management and data quality 
  • Experience leading through influence in a global organisation
  • Collaborative partner able to work at all levels with cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Credible and confident with commercial outlook, able to engage and influence senior internal partners
  • Able to and enjoys working at both strategic and operational levels  
  • Innovative, takes initiative and ownership for ideas
