CVS Health is recruiting for a VP of Machine Learning and AI Platforms.  Reporting to the Chief Data Officer the VP ML and AI Platforms will lead a team of around 150 colleagues driving the strategy and execution of programs that deliver best in class machine learning and AI initiatives. This leader will guide our Machine Learning data platforms area and will be an integral part of our engineering leadership team. The individual in this role will be the driving force behind the vision, strategy and development of a premier data and analytics organization, with a clear emphasis on AI/ML strategic vision.

You will make an impact by:

• Lead both product and engineering for core AI capabilities
• Building and leading an industry AI talent team of 100 – 200 engineers and product professionals
• Building ML&AI platforms and capabilities that will be a key enabler and utilized by >1,000 Decision Scientists and > 3,000 Engineers to support 100s of ML models and emerging GenAI capabilities and tools
• Enabling over $2B in automation and augmentation work by 2025
• Partnering closely with key stakeholders across Decision Scientists and the Aetna, Pharmacy, Retail and CareMark business units in the planning, execution and cohesive alignment of the company’s product strategy and overarching company goals
• Be a key member of the AI and Data Governance steering group and partner on ongoing responsible AI policies and standards
• Collaborating closely with Data Engineering peers to influence critical architecture and infrastructure decisions to ensure successful deployment and maintenance of AI infrastructure
• Supporting CVS Health in attracting, retaining, and engaging a diverse and inclusive consumer-centric workforce that delivers on our purpose and reflects the communities in which we work, live, and serve.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field preferred

The candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This position offers broad exposure to all aspects of the company’s business, as well as significant interaction with all the business leaders. The candidate will be expected to have the following key attributes:

• 8-10+ years’ experience in machine learning platform and AI roles
• Ability to lead large teams and work effective across the enterprise
• A strong portfolio showcasing a track record of successful ML/AI platform implementations.
• Expertise in ML and Gen AI tools.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
• A strategic mindset with the ability to balance technical work with business objectives.
• Strong project management skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Knowledge of current design trends and emerging technologies.
• Ability to work Hybrid Model (in office Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday)

The typical pay range for this role is:

Minimum:  $300,000

Maximum: $450,000

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
