Role

The Associate on the Data Governance team is responsible for improving data quality across the organization by implementing and maintaining an institutional data governance structure and data quality methodology. Works with relevant partners to ensure rigorous data governance/quality management.  Performs routine assignments using existing procedures.  Receives instruction, guidance and direction from more senior level roles.

Major Duties

  • Develops tools and processes used to maintain a common, data standard across the EDA organization
  • Responsible for data management standards, processes, controls and content for the creation and maintenance of common data dictionaries
  • Perform periodic data quality checks on Master data to ensure data is fit for purpose
  • Collaborates with partners across the organization in maintaining data governance and data quality structures ensuring we are meeting business needs while balancing quality, risk, and cost
  • Identifies improvements to existing data remediation processes & suspect processing processes to further gain operational efficiency and productivity
  • Assists with special projects and/or process improvement initiatives across multiple MDM projects and EDA initiatives when required
  • Works within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines


Experience / Knowledge / Skills

  • A College or University degree
  • Knowledge of Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Remediation, and Enterprise Data Management concepts
  • Understands and effectively communicates the role of Data Quality Steward to both business and technical communities within the sphere of the data domain
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
  • In-depth Functional/Industry Knowledge of MDM/Master Data is required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel), SQL or Data Analysis tools
