Data Governance & Metadata Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Governance & Metadata Management Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in implementing data governance frameworks, managing metadata, and addressing data quality issues across various projects. The role requires the ability to work independently, engage with key stakeholders, and drive discussions to enhance data quality and governance. Additionally, the candidate will play a key role in organizing and facilitating Data Governance Committees and effectively communicating the benefits of data governance initiatives to business teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and implement Data Governance and Metadata Management projects, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
  
• Act as the primary liaison with stakeholders to understand data quality issues, driving remediation and resolution efforts.
  
• Facilitate and organize Data Governance Committees, ensuring effective collaboration and decision-making.
  
• Provide demos and presentations to business stakeholders, showcasing the benefits of data governance programs and tools.
  
• Develop and maintain data governance policies, standards, and processes that promote data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility.
  
• Ensure alignment between data governance initiatives and business objectives.
  
• Work collaboratively with data stewards, data owners, and technical teams to enforce data governance policies.
  
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging practices in data governance, metadata management, and data quality.
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field.
  
• Extensive experience in Data Governance and Metadata Management.
  
• Proven track record of implementing data governance frameworks and driving data quality improvements.
  
• Strong knowledge of data governance principles, including data stewardship, ownership, and accountability.
  
• Experience in organizing and running Data Governance Committees.
  
• Ability to independently liaise with stakeholders and business users to address data quality concerns.
  
• Demonstrated capability to present and provide demos to business teams, effectively communicating the value of data governance programs.
  
• Familiarity with data governance tools and technologies (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation) is preferred.
  
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  

Preferred Skills:

• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  
• Certification in data governance or related fields is a plus.
