Role: Data Analyst - PowerBI

Type: Full-time
Location: Toronto
Environment: Hybrid - 1 day per week in office

Overview: We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst to join our team, specializing in developing PowerBI dashboards integrated into SharePoint. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in database queries/management, Python, and data visualization using PowerBI. This role will focus on creating insightful and interactive dashboards to facilitate data-driven decision-making across the organization. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for integrating these dashboards seamlessly into SharePoint and providing training to staff members on how to effectively utilize them.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain PowerBI dashboards to visualize data from various databases and sources.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable insights through data visualization.
  • Utilize Python programming to clean, manipulate, and analyze large datasets for dashboard creation.
  • Integrate PowerBI dashboards into SharePoint, ensuring a seamless user experience and accessibility for all stakeholders.
  • Train and support staff members on how to use PowerBI dashboards effectively for data analysis and decision-making.
  • Continuously monitor and optimize dashboard performance, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and responsiveness.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in data visualization, PowerBI, SharePoint integration, and database management.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience 4+ years developing PowerBI dashboards and reports.
  • Strong proficiency in database queries/management.
  • Proficiency in Python programming for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Experience integrating PowerBI dashboards into SharePoint 
  • Experience with organizing Sharepoint records and optimizing search capabilities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with other data visualization tools
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and techniques.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint administration and customization.
  • Certification in PowerBI or related technologies.
