About the opportunity  

We are looking for a Senior Data & Reporting Analyst to help support our long-term data driven decision and delivery of strategies project withing our Retail, Brand & Marketing portfolio. Australia Post is going through a large digital transformation and this role will be in a unique position to install lasting change which will drive Australia Post’s retail business into the future.

Utilising machine learning principles and techniques, you will model and forecast business trends, customer behavior and growth opportunities. You will also work alongside other analytics specialist and cross-function team members to help deliver strategic retail initiatives, trials and other performance improvement activities that will directly impact commercial performance. 


You’ll also   

  • Work in collaboration with wider customer analytics and insights team to provide big data collection support, including extract and preparation of data for modelling, analysis and trending
  • Be accountable for ensuring data is up to date and accurate, reporting is on time and fit for purpose, working with the Customer and Marketing analytics team to define additional analytical and reporting requirements to support the wider Retails Operation team
  • Drive continuous improvement and leverage available BI technologies to automate and improve the delivery of reports and scorecards aligning to business outcomes. Including periodic review and audit of active report and dashboard for accuracy
  • Produce and maintain Business Intelligence (BI) reports and scorecards that cover different aspect of the retail channel and product functions; driving the creation of new analysis and reporting / dashboards which support teams to drive business outcomes.
  • Create and manage customer tables to aggregate data from multiple sources for use in reporting and analytics. Building relationships between datasets for aggregation and ensuring scalability of table design to accommodate future data growth and reporting needs.  
  • Develop and maintain code to extract data from customized tables, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Including writing SQL queries or scripts and optimizing query performance for large datasets.

 

About you  

This role will suit someone who has a sense of curiosity and able to translate data into meaningful insights. You are comfortable engaging and building relationships with stakeholders at various levels of the organisation, using your strong influencing skills.


You’ll also need   

  • 5-7 years’ experience within Analytics.
  • Solid background with Data Studio / Tableau / Looker or similar data visualisation solutions.
  • Experience building data solutions using (GCP preferred).  
  • Proven ability to analyse complex problems, identify critical issues and quickly develop strategies for delivering solutions.    
  • Clear thinking and reasoning together with strong influencing capabilities.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking combining business acumen.
