Research Assistant (Computer Science/Information Technology/Information Systems)

The College of Computing & Data Science (CCDS) invites applications for the position of Research Assistant.

The Research Assistant will be responsible for conducting research on mobile-friendly data visualization, including mobile data visualization design and convenient interactions. Successful candidate will be part of an active research team led by Prof. Yong WANG at the College of Computing and Data Science, NTU, Singapore.

 
Key Responsibilities: 

• Survey existing studies on mobile data visualization design and its interaction

• Develop new techniques for the design and creation of mobile-friendly data visualizations

• Develop novel techniques for effective and convenient user interactions with data visualization on mobile devices

• Document writing on summarizing the research outputs.

Job Requirements: 

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or closely related disciplines from a reputable institution of higher learning

• Minimum 1 year of relevant research experience in data visualization, human computer interaction, machine learning, data mining or data analytics

• Basic knowledge/Proficiency in programming software/languages such as Python, JavaScript, D3 and HTML5 is required

• Good analytical, technical and problem-solving skills

• Proficient in English speaking and writing as required for research work
