Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for a technology leader who is looking for significant professional growth at an organisation with an award-winning culture for creativity, client impact and openness. Your role will carry a core focus on defining and delivering architectural solutions, structuring technology and engineering teams and managing large-scale technical delivery for our DACH Energy & Commodities (E&C) business and clients. You will also be responsible for thought leadership, driving the adoption of modern architecture and technology trends such as Microservices architecture, Data, AI, Cloud, DevOps and innovative engineering transformation at scale.  Along with driving best fit solutions for our clients, you will also work closely with business development leads, client partners and programme delivery managers to realise new business opportunities and help grow client accounts.

Your Impact

You will work closely with senior stakeholders (to the C-Suite) to pitch, design and deliver solutions that will transform our E&C clients’ businesses, while also assuming the role of technical delivery lead for geographically distributed engineering teams. Your key strengths will be in leading large scale technical strategy, design, planning and delivery, driving best practices adoption, and ensuring the growth of teams and talent. You will also pride yourself in contributing thought leadership and in helping to instil a long-term vision for our Energy & Commodities technology capabilities at Publicis Sapient.

Qualifications

Your Skills and Experience

• Fluency in both German and English
• A strong track record in consulting organisations with proven experience of interfacing with and advising senior client stakeholders up to the C Level
• Experience in defining technology strategies for clients, with a focus on modern architectures (micro-services based, cloud-hosted, Data technologies)
• Technical management and delivery experience of globally distributed engineering teams of up to 50 people or more
• Strong presentation, client pitching skills and Agile Delivery experience
• Understanding of key Energy business functions such as:
  • Power Generation including Renewables (Facilities, Maintenance, Innovation)
  • Transmission (Grid Management, Infrastructure, System Balancing)
  • Distribution (Local networks, Maintenance & Repairs)
  • Research & Development (Innovation, Sustainability Initiatives)
  • Retail & Supply (Sales, Contract Management)

A proven track record of delivering enterprise scale engineering transformation projects using contemporary technologies and methodologies such as:

• • Data technologies across streaming and batch-oriented realms cutting across data acquisition, storage, processing, consumption patterns in operational and analytical domains and cloud-related data services (AWS / Azure / GCP)
  • Distributed data processing frameworks like Spark, Storm, Flink, Snowflake across batch and streaming realms
  • End to end data architecture including Analytics, ML and Activation tools in overall Data-driven Digital Business Transformation (DBT)
  • Scala & Python (Java a nice to have)
  • DevSecOps/automation experience for large scale delivery (CI, CD, Observability, Aggregated Logging & Engineering Metrics)
  • Quality Engineering (e.g. Test Pyramid, Automated Testing etc.)
  • Distributed messaging/streaming frameworks like Kafka, Pulsar, Google Pub/Sub, Azure EventHub, AWS Kinesis are useful

• • Experience building CDP’s (Customer Data Platforms)
  • Knowledge Energy Trading functions (e.g. Operations & Risk Management, Supply Chain & Logistics, Management & Optimisation)
  • Experience contributing to thought leadership articles, blog posts and customer connect forums, speaking at meetups & conferences

You will also showcase a robust history of achieving business outcomes and driving growth, propelled by personal initiative, a capacity to work efficiently, a collaborative mindset, and a proactive commitment to taking ownership of business results.
