Current Need
McKesson is seeking a Sr. Data Analyst who will play a pivotal role in transforming business requirements into actionable insights through effective collaboration with stakeholders. This role involves designing and developing data models, implementing data transformations, and optimizing data sources for accurate and efficient data retrieval. The successful candidate will create visually compelling and interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations, adhering to best practices for data visualization and storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective solution both in the backend as well as front end, ensuring the delivery of actionable insights. Design and develop data models, implement data transformations and optimize data sources to ensure accurate and efficient data retrieval. Create visually compelling and interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Data visualization tools (Power BI and Tableau), leveraging best practices for data visualization and storytelling. Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights, and provide recommendations and enhance packages in SQL server to improve business performance. Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of existing procedure and function in PL/SQL , ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and system stability. Stay updated with the latest Power BI features, enhancements, and industry trends, and proactively propose innovative solutions to improve data visualization capabilities and drive business value.
Critical Requirements
Data Analysis: Strong analytical skills are essential to understand business requirements, identify data patterns, and derive meaningful insights from complex datasets.
Power BI Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Power BI tools, including Power Query, Power Pivot, DAX (Data Analysis Expressions), and Power BI Desktop, is crucial for designing and developing effective data models and visualizations.
Data Modeling: Proficiency in data modeling techniques, such as creating relationships between tables, defining calculated columns and measures, and optimizing data structures, is necessary to ensure efficient data retrieval and analysis.
SQL and Database Skills: A solid understanding of SQL (Structured Query Language), expertise in Pl/SQL, and experience working with SQL databases with SSRS and SSIS packages is important for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes, as well as for querying and manipulating data.
Data Visualization and Reporting: Ability to design visually appealing and interactive dashboards and reports, using best practices for data visualization, storytelling, and user experience, is essential to effectively communicate insights to stakeholders.
Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills are needed to identify and resolve technical issues, optimize performance, and troubleshoot data-related problems.
Communication and Collaboration: Effective communication and collaboration skills are critical for understanding business requirements, working with stakeholders, and providing training and support to end-users.
Continuous Learning: Given the rapidly evolving nature of the Power BI platform, a willingness to continuously learn and stay updated with the latest features, enhancements, and industry trends is essential for a Power BI Developer to deliver cutting-edge solutions.
Additional Requirements
- Healthcare: Possesses experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large volumes of healthcare data
- SAP: Adept at extracting and analyzing financial information stored in SAP systems, leveraging tools such as SAP Business Intelligence or SAP Analytics Cloud to generate meaningful insights, support financial reporting, and facilitate data-driven decision-making
- Programming: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and building machine learning models.
- Machine Learning: Knowledge of machine learning algorithms, techniques, and frameworks to build predictive models, perform data clustering, and conduct pattern recognition

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
