Job Description

This person will a be part of Western Digital's IT analyst team focusing on Finance CoE & responsible for Business Analytics & BI solutioning. Closely working with Business stakeholder & super users, they will strive for operational excellence and project implementation as directed by the IT Enterprise Analytics group leaders.

 

Primary responsibilities include

  • Applying quantitative and analytical methodologies to assimilate / analyze data into impactful & actionable insights in a clean concise manner
  • Transforming business objectives to requirements for data and reporting with a focus on the economic value of the need
  • Collaborating with internal partners and cross functional teams to ensure successful implementation of processes & projects
  • Contributing Functional expertise to the Requirements Gathering & Solution Design sessions for projects
  • Analyzing & triaging user queries for operational & close activities liaising with technical & process teams for resolution as required
  • Working to ensure we have the right views & visuals in place for KPI data gathering and reporting on a periodic basis
  • Researching & advocating best practice to allow for more efficient process design and tooling for BI use cases
  • Periodic transition to offshore teams to hand-off work elements

Qualifications

Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Administration / Data Science / related field along with 7+ years of relevant professional experience in following areas & technology:

Must Have:

  • Financial Accounting, Planning & Reporting process fundamentals
  • Statistical analysis, data modeling & visualization techniques 
  • Strong oral & written business communication
  • Business Engagement & Agile Project delivery

Highly Preferred:

  • Hands-on experience with prominent BI tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Oracle BI, Tibco Spotfire, Oracle EPM Reports, etc.
  • Understanding of Data Warehousing concepts, Data Lake ecosystem, etc.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Fusion Cloud and EPM source systems
