Mission of the role:

  • To support the business with insightful analytics to improve decision making process.
  • To consolidate multiple data sources(both internal and external) and provide a single source of truth.
  • Translate data into actionable insights with clear recommendations on driving revenue and margin growth.

 

Expectations on the role:

 

  • He/she will help the business strengthen on business insights by firstly working on descriptive and diagnostic analytics (i.e. what happened, explain why it happened) and then later towards more predictive analytics (i.e. what could happen).
  • Scope of data consolidation & analytics work include:
    • Internal data sources: Sales (Sell-in, depletions), inventory, pricing, sales metrics & perfect stores scores
    • External data sources: Consumption & sell-out (ie. Nielsen, Kantar, CGA), Media investments/GRPs (agencies)
  • The incumbent is expected to have the strong capabilities and experience in Microsoft Excel, Power BI and in programming language such as R, Python

 

Operational responsibilities to include but not limited to:


Support the Regional Commercial Director in the following areas :

  • Provide the business intelligence & insights that facilitate quality decision making. Support in answering key business questions through descriptive, diagnostic, predictive analtics.
  • Consolidate various data points into one single source of truth in the form of Power BI dashboard. Build the business intelligence dashboard and democratize access across the company.
  • Identify key drivers and influencing factors of consumptions for our priority brands.
  • Analyze using external sources of data including numeric/weighted distribution, pricing, value, volume, average pricing and internal sources of data (Depletions, sell-out, inventory, pricing, A&P, discounts and margins, sales productivity and market execution metrics)
  • Partner with IT team & local markets in maintaining a robust data warehouse/lake to ensure quality data is maintained for further analysis.
  • Strong knowledge on pricing analytics including multiple linear regression and related methodologies.

 

Key Relationships:

 

 

  • Internal : Global Commercial team, Channel & Customer Management (CCM) team, Regional functional (Sales, CCM, Marketing, HR, IT) teams, Local Market Managing Directors, Sales & Commercial Heads.
  • External: Vendors, consultants as and when involved in projects.

 

Key Requirements :


Education:

  • University degree in decision science/data science or business analytics, or computer science preferred.

 

Language:

  • English is mandatory. Knowledge of other Asian languages would be a plus.

 

Experience & Skills:

 

 

  • Background in decision / data science, business analytics or related field
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent knowledge of business systems, Power BI, Excel
  • 5 years+ experience applying analytics to answer business questions and provide actionable recommendations
  • Prior experience in statistical modelling and optimization techniques is part of the requirements for the role.
  • Understanding of analytical methodologies such as multiple linear regression, decision tree, clustering, association rules,etc
  • Able to perform complex data analysis and translate them into actionable insights. And able to articulate the insights to broader audience through data visualization
  • Good ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, build strong relationships and capacity to work in a matrix, managing and influencing key stakeholders
