Lead AI Developer

What's the role? 

We are looking for a Lead AI Developer and technical team leader to join our technology group in any of our offices in either Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, or Kuala Lumpur. In this role, you will develop and implement Generative AI solutions to enhance processes and decision-making across our design, engineering and advisory operations.  

Here are the key things you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’. 

• Innovate and Implement: Design, develop, and deploy AI solutions to optimize design options, streamline engineering workflows, and improve project planning and scheduling. 

• Lead and Mentor: Guide AI product development, mentor junior staff and promote code quality and collaboration. 

• Collaborate: Work with business leaders and end-users to identify opportunities for AI-driven process improvements and enhanced decision making. 

• Prototype and Pilot: Rapidly prototype and pilot AI solutions in a fast-paced, agile environment. 

• Own and Maintain: Take ownership of AI products from design through deployment, testing, and maintenance. 

• Enhance and Update: Continuously improve existing AI models and systems with new data, techniques, and technologies. 

• Review and Recommend: Participate in architecture reviews and recommend production-ready AI solutions aligned with industry best practices. 

• Stay Informed: Keep up to date on the latest AI research and technologies.

• Educational Background: A tertiary qualification such as an MS/PhD in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related technical field is highly regarded. 

• Technical Expertise: Strong experience in building and deploying machine learning systems in production environments. 

• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams. 

• Programming Proficiency: Expertise in languages and frameworks like Python, PyTorch, Langchain, etc 

• Applied Techniques: Experience with techniques like computer vision, NLP, or reinforcement learning to real-world problems. 

• Cloud Experience: Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) 

• Communication Skills: The ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to senior leadership. 

• Passion for AI: A strong enthusiasm for leveraging AI technology to transform and disrupt traditional workflows and deliver exceptional results for clients.
