JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Opportunity

We are seeking an enthusiastic Associate Data Engineer to join our team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals who have recently graduated with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science and have up to three years of work experience. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and optimization of our backend software architecture & data platforms, supporting data and AI-based applications, including AI Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) applications and prompt engineering. This role offers the opportunity to engage in innovative projects that enhance our data architecture and AI capabilities, supporting new product developments and data initiatives.

What You’ll Work On

  • Assist in designing, developing, and optimizing software architecture, data pipelines, and data models for data and AI-based applications and systems.
  • Collaborate on the development of AI RAG applications and prompt engineering solutions.
  • Support the integration of AI models and algorithms into our software systems to enhance functionality and performance.
  • Work with stakeholders including the Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
  • Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems and platforms.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field
  • Must also have 1-2 years of business internship or similar work experience in a software development role
  • Highly motivated to work, collaborate, and contribute to a team-based engineering and product development culture
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including 1:1 situations, team demos, and group presentation.
  • Basic knowledge of software architecture principles and design patterns.
  • Internship, work, or academic project experience in developing AI-based applications and integrating AI models into software systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Academic and/or working knowledge and practical hands-on experience with relational databases, query authoring (SQL), retrieving data from REST API’s, as well as familiarity with NoSQL databases
  • Foundational understanding of software development principles and practices.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis on software and data-related issues as part of academic projects or internships would be beneficial.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of software/tools such as:
    • Programming languages: Python/C#/Java (or similar)
    • Data and ML Libraries: pandas, PySpark, PyNumPy, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar
    • Web Development Frameworks: Django, Flask, or similar Cloud services: AWS/Azure related services

     

The base pay for this position is

$48,000.00 – $96,000.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
