Wood Mackenzie is seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Analyst to join our Equity Insights team.  Our dedicated oil and gas sector teams are located around the world and deliver research and consulting projects based on our assessment and valuation of thousands of individual assets. Together we work with a range of clients including national and major oil companies, operators, investment banks, hedge funds, private equity funds, and institutional investors. This is a fantastic leadership opportunity to make an impact.

About the role

This position will be responsible for maintaining and developing our expertise in tracking activity across upstream and midstream energy assets based on Wood Mackenzie’s deep knowledge and datasets in the energy commodity space, as well as assisting the team with their data requirements.  You will be working closely alongside experienced analysts based in the US and Canada as part of our Equity Insights analytics service.  In addition, we expect you to develop your own analytical skills to contribute to publish reports, directly answer client queries. You will also take part in future development of the Equity Insight product. This is a full-time Analyst role, based in North America.

You will be responsible for ensuring our Equity Insight models are kept up-to-date and accurate, investigating and resolving any issues and communicating important changes seen each week based on Wood Mackenzie commodity data.  You will also be helping develop and maintain financial models for E&P and midstream companies, and to collect and make reports from reported quarterly datasets.  This role is key for the efficient running of our short-term equity team in support of our key hedge fund, bank and trading clients. You will be working closely with our team of Upstream and Midstream Equity analysts based in the US and Canada, to deliver our weekly Equity Insights report for our clients.

You will also be expected to contribute to the analytical content and the writing of our quarterly Equity Insights reports, including reports on production, hedging, capex and drilling economics.  You can expect to partake in client queries, particularly when this relates to the Equity Insight models you maintain and collected quarterly datasets.

As we develop out further our Equity Insight capabilities, you will find yourself at the center of our product development program – helping Wood Mackenzie grow and enhance the Equity products, making use of our deep commodity market capabilities to advantageously inform Equity and Credit markets.
