People for Process Automation offer you solutions and products in flow, level, liquid analysis, optical analysis, pressure, temperature measurement, software and system productsWe are in search of an experienced Data Science Lead to pioneer and steer our data team, dedicated to our Digital Solutions business and Industrial IoT platform for the process automation industry. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of data science, engineering, analysis, strategy, and management, coupled with specific expertise in AI/ML, industrial IoT and process automation. As an integral part of the product management department, this role involves crafting a data strategy in close collaboration with product managers, software engineers, and CX/UX/UI designers, while simultaneously building the groundwork for a dynamic data team. The ultimate objective is to expand the potential of measurement in process industries by leveraging digitalization and data, thereby delivering added value to our customers and enhancing their processes for a more productive and more sustainable future.
Tasks + Challenges
- Iteratively develop and execute data strategies and systems, specifically tailored to support an Industrial IoT platform within the process automation industry.
- Foster close collaboration with product managers, CX/UX/UI experts, business development, customer success, and support teams to ensure the data strategy aligns with product objectives and user experience goals.
- Drive AI/ML based product enhancements within our offering that will solve real customer problems.
- Lay the groundwork for a robust data team, outlining clear roles and responsibilities to guarantee effective data management and analysis.
- Enhance, and disseminate AI and ML competence by active participation in research and close collaboration with universities and research institutes.
- Guarantee the robustness of data systems to meet the demands of process automation.
- Establish and enforce effective data quality checking and data cleaning procedures, particularly for process automation data.
- Aid in identifying and implementing the most suitable tools and systems for data analysis within the context of process automation.
Qualifications + Profile
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related field. A doctorate's degree is preferred.
- 3+ years of proven experience as a Data Manager or similar role, preferably in the Industrial IoT or process automation industry.
- Strong understanding of data science and data analytics procedures.
- In-depth knowledge of deep learning principles including generative models, multi-model ML and large language/vision models.
- Proficient in programming languages (Python, C++ etc. ), ML frameworks (Pytorch, TensorFlow, Keras etc.) and data management tools (SQL, SAS, Snowflake, AWS etc.).
- An analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong leadership and project management abilities.
- Knowledge of Industrial IoT platforms and process automation preferred.
- Experience in building and leading data teams in a fast-paced environment is highly desirable.
