PitchBook’s Data Operations Intern works to ensure that the data being utilized in the PitchBook platform is comprehensive, accurate, and timely. A Data Operations Intern will use our in-house developed Research Tool Suite (RTS), Excel, and other tools to help the team ensure our data meets high quality standards while continually increasing the efficiency, productivity, and quality. An Intern will work with teams across the Data Operations department, including secondary and primary research, sourcing operations, and project management. Our Summer Internship is full-time program (40 hours per week) running from June – August 2025 (specific dates vary by office location). Please note, at this time PitchBook does not provide relocation assistance for our internships.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Gather and verify information through web research and manage the information in our research database
- Research events and information pertaining to the private equity and venture capital industries (e.g., details on deals, acquired companies, company sites, and investment firms)
- Leverage our in-house database, business intelligence reports, and other technology-based tools to ensure that proprietary data is audited and added to the PitchBook Platform efficiently
- Learn and develop research tracking methodologies to ensure that data is of the utmost quality
- Regularly collaborate with other data operations team members to learn about different datasets and help with various data quality initiatives
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with your team and other stakeholders to provide updates on project progress, address roadblocks and celebrate wins
- Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
- Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested
- Participate in a Career Readiness program to develop fundamental skills important for early-career employees

Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as a junior in a higher education program (college or university): Business, Economics, Finance, and related majors preferred
- To be considered for the intern position, applicant must be legally authorized to work in the United States (or United Kingdom) on a full-time basis upon hire. PitchBook will not consider candidates for this position who require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (e.g., H-1B status). The company may in its sole discretion extend your contract for a further fixed term period(s) to be agreed by you and the Company
Skills and Qualifications:
- Enjoy working with numbers and large quantities of data
- Appreciate a well-thought-out process, while also taking initiative and improving them further
- Enjoy working with a team, but can also work independently
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
- Detail oriented, curious, and innovative
- Interest in the private equity, venture capital, and M&A industries
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily

Compensation
- Annual hourly rate: $22/hour
Working Conditions:
We believe our business and our culture are strongest when we work together in person. We also know that it’s helpful to have some flexibility to work remotely. Most roles work in the office 3+ days/week, and some are expected to work in the office 4-5 days/week. The current expectation for this role is that you are working in the office 3+ days/week and that you are in the office full-time during the training period, for which the length varies by role. During an initial phone screen, the team will discuss expectations for this specific position.
The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
