Job Description

As a Senior Data Engineer at ABOUT YOU, you will play a pivotal role in the Reporting and Data Science team, responsible for developing and maintaining a robust data platform. This platform supports complex data pipelines essential for various stakeholders, including finance, logistics, and marketing. Your work will directly impact the company's data infrastructure and the efficiency of its operations. The challenge is to lead and manage the transition from legacy systems to a new, high-performance data platform.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and well-documented data pipelines.
• Create automated monitoring and alerting systems to ensure data integrity and proactively identify anomalies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver data solutions that support business objectives.
• Lead the migration of data infrastructure from legacy systems, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance.
• Set and uphold data engineering standards, share knowledge, and promote best practices within the team.

Who you are

• Bachelor's degree in a MINT-related field or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in building and maintaining large-scale data pipelines.
• Proficiency in data orchestration and processing tools such as Apache Airflow, Google Cloud Dataflow, or Metaflow.
• Strong expertise in SQL, particularly in big data environments.
• Solid background in software engineering with a focus on Python development.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex ideas clearly and simply.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Pragmatic problem solver who thrives on getting things done.
