As a Modeling Analytics associate, you will drive the forecasting analytics by creating and automating the benchmarks or high-level approaches to support the accuracy and soundness of default servicing forecast. Further, the associate will streamline and automate the forecasting process. This position will interact with Home Lending Credit Forecast team as well as Operations, Finance, Modeling team and HL Strategic team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide information to management and challenge the forecast results by assembling, interpreting and summarizing data, preparing reports, making presentations of findings, along with analyses and recommendations to Senior Management 
  • Assist in data and forecast results analysis in a business and financial context and support all results through appropriate documentation
  • Work closely with upstream and downstream partners to communicate outcomes and analysis
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Expected to work on multiple projects with limited guidance
  • Mentor other analysts to help them develop their risk management skills and knowledge 

 

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field is required 
  • Expertise in SAS and/or SQL programming (ORACLE, Teradata) is required. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization is required with the ability to storyboard along with the ability to defend storyboard position
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Advance knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, PPT, Project)
  • Strong interpersonal skills - a highly motivated, confident, team player 
  • Ability to work independently & manage projects and deadlines

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Experience working with partners in different geographical locations, particularly in India and the US, is a plus.
  • Advance degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Programming language experience including Python/ R is a plus.
  • Experience in mortgage, performing mortgage servicing, or risk analytics is highly desirable.
