In order to support the department in Manching, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a

Master/Bachelor Thesis in front-end technologies for a Big Data platform (d/f/m)

The departement is highly experienced in set of professionals belonging to an international team with presence in Germany and Spain. Our goal is to

transform aircraft support processes into data-driven solutions based on a robust data foundation. The target is to compare the different front-end technologies for a Big Data Platform with high security requirements.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Analyse the current front-end solution (Spotfire) regarding maintainability, versioning, and stability

• Research and compare alternative front-end technologies concerning:

• Functionality

• Usability

• Maintainability

• Scalability

• Security Requirement

• Create a catalogue of criteria for the evaluation of the technologies

• Conduct interviews or surveys with users and developers to capture requirements and experiences

• Perform a technical comparison and evaluate at least one alternative technology based on the catalogue of criteria

• Implement a Proof of Concept (PoC) with the proposed technology

• Document and present the results

Desired skills and qualifications

• Enrolled full-time student (d/f/m) within in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Engineering, or related field

• Knowledge in front-end development and Big Data technologies (e.g. as working student)

• Interest in security requirements and architectural decisions

• Independent working style and analytical thinking
