Department Overview: The Analytics and Business Intelligence (ABI, pronounced “abbey”) provide data-led insight to different decision makers through standard and ad hoc reports and appropriate data management for the reported data sets.

Our Go To Market function (Customer Health, Sales and Marketing) requires a data analyst experienced in those domains to provide initial data analysis and to translate business requirements to technically deliverable data products.

Currently our maturity is descriptive and diagnostic data analysis, and this role is intended to solidify diagnostic analysis and lead on the maturation cycle to prescriptive and predictive analytics. The role will own the technical aspects of reporting for the GTM function, working with business-side “product managers" to maintain the data products in alignment with business needs.

We use Salesforce SalesCloud as our CRM, with a company-wide SQL Data Warehouse fed by overnight pipelines. The Data Warehouse is a star-schema design. Standard reporting is produced using PowerBI. T-SQL and Python are the core technologies used for Exploratory Data Analysis and ad hoc reporting, with results ordinarily shared with business users via powerpoint and Excel.

This role is expected to:

  • Understand the data that is available within Civica for this function, including its constraints (e.g. data quality)
  • Understand the business requirements for reporting and data analysis within a GTM function, including industry norms for measurement
  • Create prototype data products to prove value to the product managers’ hypothesis-led requirements
  • Undertake ad hoc data requests
  • Author user stories for the reporting team to work against to produce production reporting
  • Support the product managers with adoption of the data products throughout the business
  • Support data fluency throughout the organisation and embed data-led decision making in the GTM function

  • Identify and propose hypothesis-led improvements based on exploration of data sets, leading to increased sales and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain the data dictionary of data assets relevant to GTM and how they interrelate with other corporate facts and dimensions
  • Produce ad hoc reports and analysis following requests from business users
  • Collaborate with source system owners and data warehouse owners to improve data sets (quality / coverage etc) for future reporting

Essential Skills

  • Experience of reporting within a GTM function is necessary, including knowledge of key GTM measures (Pipeline Gen, Pipeline Velocity, Customer Health scores, MQL scoring)
  • T-SQL and Python to intermediate or advanced level
