Description

Company Overview

Immunome is a clinical-stage targeted oncology company committed to developing first- and best-in-class targeted therapies designed to improve outcomes for cancer patients. We are advancing an innovative portfolio of therapeutics, drawing on leadership that previously played key roles in the design, development, and commercialization of cutting-edge targeted cancer therapies, including antibody-drug conjugate therapies (ADCs.) In addition to a portfolio of discovery-stage ADCs, our pipeline includes AL102, a gamma secretase inhibitor which is currently in a Phase 3 trial for treatment of desmoid tumors, as well as IM-1021, a ROR1 ADC, and IM-3050, a FAP-targeted radioligand, both of which are the subject of INDs expected to be submitted in the first quarter of 2025.

Position Overview

The Scientist II within Biophysics in Antibody Sciences will play a key role in advancing our drug development pipeline. You will generate and evaluate antibodies and other proteins, both in dry lab and wet lab settings, for use within the team and by other research groups, while also characterizing the biophysical properties of the proteins produced. Your contributions will be crucial to our ongoing programs and will help shape the development of our novel therapeutic technologies.

Responsibilities

Research Design and Execution

  • Design plasmids for the recombinant expression of antibodies and other proteins of interest.
  • Express antibodies and other proteins transiently in mammalian cell lines and maintain the cell lines for expression.
  • Purify proteins using primarily affinity and size-exclusion chromatography coupled to FPLC systems.
  • Characterize the binding kinetics of antibodies using BLI, SPR or relevant system.
  • Characterize the proteins using Isothermal Titration Calorimetry (ITC) or Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) or Differential Scanning Fluorimetry (DSF).
  • Characterize the biophysical properties of antibodies using biochemical and biophysical techniques like SDS-PAGE, HPLC, MALS and DLS.
  • Assess thermal stability of antibodies using DLS or instruments such as the Uncle.
  • Expose antibodies to stress conditions such as extreme pH, high temperature, high salt, freeze/thaw, and agitation, and characterize the effect on their biophysical properties as measured by DLS, LC-MS, BLI, etc.

Data Analysis and Interpretation

  • Analyze and summarize experimental data from protein expression, binding, and stability assays.
  • Interpret results and communicate implications to developing technologies.
  • Families with LIMS system.

Project Collaboration

  • Collaborate with colleagues from diverse scientific disciplines, including biology, chemistry, pharmacology, and translational medicine to achieve project goals.
  • Organize data for ease of collaboration with other research teams.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain detailed and accurate electronic laboratory notebooks documenting experimental procedures, results, and conclusions.
  • Prepare and present research findings to internal teams a contribute to project updates and strategic discussions.

Continuous Learning and Development

  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in techniques for producing and characterizing protein therapeutics.
  • Proactively seek opportunities for professional development and contribute to the scientific growth of the research team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience (or 5+ years of experience with a Master’s degree, or 2+ PhD) of preclinical drug development in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or CRO industry.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience in an array of Biophysics techniques and instruments.
  • Experience in protein analytics, such as SDS-PAGE, HPLC-SEC-MALS, DLS, and BLI.
  • Expertise in mammalian protein expression and purification using AKTA FPLC systems is a plus.
  • Experience in Linux or BSD system, such as Ubuntu, FreeBSD, or MacOS is a plus.
  • Experience in high-level program language, such as Python, R, or Julia is a plus.
  • Experience in machine learning algorithm, such as Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras is a plus.
  • Ability to maintain detailed and organized experimental logs.
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex scientific data.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience in CRO management is plus.
